Why The Nigerian Government Does Not Want Nigeria To Progress

A country that has never passed through civil war, terrorism, disaster, plagues etc, that country hardly completes the process of development. Countries like America, Germany, China, Japan, Israel Vietnam, Korea, Russia, are countries which development took place after their civil wars, but yet Nigeria has moved backward from development.

The people of the south-eastern Nigeria (Igbos) are the people known to be practical and creative, when talking about development in Nigeria they are the referred to. They are the most successful, very gifted, aggressive, westernized, at best envied and resented, but mostly despised by their neighbors.

For that matter, Nigerians fear the day the Igbos will gain their freedom because they are the ones that have managed to keep development going on but yet they are being suppressed and intimidated. They don’t want the Igbos to have the freedom to the kind of development that will equip them to have their own independence, so they keep suppressing, frustrating and disuniting them against one another.

During the civil war in 1967, Biafrans manufactured war planes, armored tanks, local refineries, bombs etc, out of scrap metals, but yet in this 2018 Nigerian government still goes abroad to buy military helicopters, planes, war equipment and vehicles, rather than empowering and patronizing the creativity that managed to survive after the years, they try to destroy and bury them.

Take a look at Innson Vehicle Production in Nigeria located in the South-east, which the Nigerian government has made series of attempt to relocate the company to the north and south-west, now they are using some unscrupulous government and private agencies trying to destabilize and destroy the organization.

Other cases are Ibeto; cement factory which the Nigerian government has consistently stripped off their license to operate, the refusal to build for the south-east the things that will hasten development in the region like sea ports, international airports, factories and so on.

The south-east region has only received little of the vast opportunities been offered to other geopolitical regions but yet far developed than most of these regions. Even the little development done on these other regions were mostly done by the Igbos.

Yet they still want to tax the every other Nigerians for monies which they will use to develop the north, they are talking about adding 500% tariff to beer in Nigeria, meaning that the cost of beer will skyrocket then they will take the additional money to repair the damaged that boko haram did in the northern parts, knowing fully well that an average northerner does not drink.

They all want the Igbos to be dependent and miserable, in that manner they will not seek for independence when the truth remains that Nigeria will never progress if with the oppression of the Igbos since they are the gifted in development.
